Kristy is the proud and passionate founder of Shine Yoga. You will find her teaching all of the Mums and Bubs classes, Pregnancy Yoga and Pilates classes, Restorative Yoga and Saturdays yoga in the park.

Hi and Welcome, I’m Kristy and I am the creator and founder of Shine Yoga. I have been practising yoga for over a decade now and I absolutely love it!  I am a qualified Yoga Teacher (200hrs) with additional qualifications in Pre and Postnatal Yoga (RPYT 85hrs), Restorative Yoga (85 hrs) and Pilates.

Shine Yoga was created to empower women with the skills and knowledge needed to achieve not only a positive birthing experience but also a positive transition into motherhood and beyond.

I have been practicing yoga for many years, however my real passion for yoga began shortly after the birth of my first daughter.  At that point in my life I was fumbling through my new role as a mother, whilst also trying to recover physically and mentally from a complicated childbirth. I sought help from many professionals during this time, however I strongly believe it was my yoga practice that got me through mentally and physically.  While using yoga to recover physically, I gained physical strength but more importantly I gained mental strength and a sense of peace and balance in my life.  Yoga gave me the space I needed to “just breathe”.  It gave me the space I needed to listen to my body and mind, and it gave me the confidence to follow my mothering intuition.  I learnt to breathe through motherhood and to trust my intuition when mothering my daughter.  The simple act of attending a yoga class, taking time out for self care, gave me an immense feeling of support and guidance as I navigated the many challenges of motherhood.

During the pregnancy of my second daughter, I was determined to do things differently and a achieve the positive and natural birth I had hoped for the first time around.  I started attending prenatal yoga classes and not long after, began studying to become a Prenatal Yoga Teacher.  I was determined to do all I could to feel empowered, calm and confident during my own pregnancy and labour.  And I am happy to report I achieved all of this and more.  My passion now is to share all I’ve learnt from yoga, pregnancy, birth and motherhood with as many other mothers as I can. This is what Shine Yoga is all about.
