Prenatal Yoga is a safe and supportive way to nurture your body and mind, while taking time out to slow down and connect with your baby. These classes will help you prepare both mentally and physically for childbirth and beyond.
During our Prenatal Yoga classes we focus on exercises to strengthen your body and mind in preparation for childbirth. We also focus on stretching exercises and correct postural alignment to help ease some of the physical discomforts pregnancy may bring.
We explore several different breathing techniques to help relax or body and mind, and breathing techniques to use during labour.
You will learn many yoga inspired active birth movements to help keep you active and upright during childbirth. Studies have shown that staying upright and active during birth helps to lessen the intensity and duration of labour.
Our classes also focus on pelvic floor awareness, toning and relaxation. These exercises are vital for pregnancy, childbirth and beyond to ensure optimal health and integrity of your pelvic floor.
You will be given the space to turn inwards and connect with your baby, as well as the opportunity to meet and have a chat with other pregnant mothers in the community.
Whether you are hoping for a vaginal birth or having a planned C-Section our Prenatal Yoga classes will support you throughout your pregnancy. Many of the things learnt during our Prenatal classes will also support you Postnatally as you journey into motherhood with a new baby.
Stay for a chat and a lovely cup of organic herbal tea after class.
Our classes are structured into terms, however to achieve all the wonderful benefits it is recommended to continuing attending term after term, for as long as you can. It is not uncommon to have mums coming to class at 40+ weeks!!
“Thank you so much for everything I learnt coming to yoga! Your classes gave me so much knowledge about the birth process and how to work with my body to bring my baby into the world“
